What goes around comes around. A fundraiser was held to give back to wrestler Steve Chamberland’s 50 Legs, an organization that has afforded 12-year-old Damian Vogel of Vero Beach with the ability to walk tall by providing him with prosthetic feet.
Steve Chamberland, POA friend, former pro wrestler, below-knee amputee, and founder of 50 Legs, a non-profit organization which raises money to provide prosthetics for children, has been nominated for Bay News 9’s “Everyday Heroes Viewers’ Choice Award”. Steve puts his heart and soul into his work. One of his most recent recipients was POA’s Zoe Gibbs, who is featured in a video interview of Steve entitled, “I’m glad I lost my leg; now I can help others.”
Jake Gyllenhaal Earns $10,000 For Charity By Completing The Boston Strongman Challenge On ‘Ellen’
To promote the movie Stronger, Jake Gyllenhaal and real-life Boston Marathon survivor Jeff Bauman have been on a pretty adorable press tour. Now, with an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the two have earned a hefty donation for a worthy charity by putting the Oscar-nominated actor through something called the Boston Strongman Challenge.

Steve is more than just a motorcycle amputee. After losing his leg in a motorcycle crash he founded www.50Legs.org and found his true calling. 50Legs.org helps amputees acquire prosthetics so they can live a fuller life. If not for his organization, I would never have been able to do what I did on the 2nd Leg Journey (at least not as soon as I did it).

Firefighter Matthew Hicks thought his career was over when he lost his leg in a car accident. He wondered how he would be able to continue his passion of saving lives.
